There is nothing officially planned for the Barn community, but Jon is part if Emmaus Rd church who are hosting an open worship evening. He felt it appropriate to invite people to that.
History of the date of Shavout
For centuries, there has been debate over the exact date due to ambiguity in Leviticus 23.
In the "Moedim 2025" document we sent out, Shavuot was listed as June 7th/8th. However, we later realized that some in the community had already planned to celebrate the week before, as conventional calendars display this date for Shavuot! We were late in sending communication out this year and, unfortunately, we didn't notice until too late that there are now two possible dates that people would have organized their lives around in order to celebrate together with the community.
