About the event
The Day of Firstfruits is the key starting point for counting the 49 days toward Shavuot. For centuries, there has been debate over the exact date due to ambiguity in Leviticus 23.
In the "Moedim 2025" document we sent out, this festival was listed as Sunday, April 20th. However, we later realized that some in the community had already planned to celebrate on April 15th, which is the date shown on standard calendars. To acknowledge this, we have decided to include both dates.
As a result, our community will have two dates for Shavuot, since the 49-day count will begin from both April 15th and April 20th. This year, we will need to extend extra grace and do our best to embrace both dates.
